Share your favourite blog of the week. What specifically do you like about it?
3. Adding images to your blog
We'll learn how to import photos from the web. We'll also look at some tips for creating your own great photos using the resource at http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-path=317&pq-locale=en_US&_requestid=3771.
Make three photos using each of the tips we look at.
4. Make a blog entry
We'll review the process for getting to your blog, adding a post and making/checking the comments section. Take some time to think and make a blog entry.
5. If you have time, find blogs that include images you like. What makes the images interesting to you? Be specific (angle, focus, content, etc.) Pick one blog to share with the group.
6. Homework!
a. Make at least one entry in your blog (writing, photos, etc.)
b. Check out other participant's blog entries and add your comments
c. Keep surfing other blogs with the questions from today's assignment in mind. Pick a favourite blog to share with the group next week. Be prepared to tell the group what specifically you like about the blog.

Week Two - Design

Share your favourite blog of the week. What do you like about it? Why does the creator blog? Who is their audience?
3. Make a blog entry
We'll review the process for getting to your blog, adding a post and making/checking the comments section. Take some time to think and make a blog entry about why you want to blog, what you want your blog to do, who you anticipate your audience will be. We'll look at the blog entries together.
4. Design - Them
Look at several blogs with design in mind. What do you like (or not) about their designs? What do they include on their blogs? (Take note of the specific elements.) Pick one site to share with the group.

Now that you've looked at other blogs, you probably have some ideas of things you'd like to add to yours. We'll go through the design options available to you in Blogspot including colours, fonts and page elements to add.
6. Homework!

Four New Bloggers are Born!
Well, there are four new blogs in cyberspace as of today... congratulations all! We had a good first session with two facilitator-bloggers and three participant-bloggers in attendance. We got through a lot of our agenda, though we did not have much time to surf other blogs or to share about what we found there. So, we're all going to do some snooping around over the next week to see what we can find. When we gather again, we'll have some further discussion about why we want to blog and who we anticipate our audience to be. If you have anything you'd like to share with the group in the meantime, please post your thoughts in the comments section of this blog.
I don't think we talked about the procedure for posting to your blog. When you go to your blog address, you'll have to sign in with your user email and password before you can post or edit anything. If you have any questions, email or call Derek or leave a comment on this blog and I'll get back to you asap. I look forward to reading everyone's posts and getting to know you better. Week One - Getting Started
